Bob Coulson Posted 22 July , 2004 Share Posted 22 July , 2004 Tony, From Ray Westlakes book, July 1st 1916 attacked Ovillers with the 8th KOYLI. The leading waves cleared the German first line and entered the second. Here due to heavy losses assault was checked and withdrawal forced. Casualties=635. Bob.
