Fred W Posted 23 July , 2004 Share Posted 23 July , 2004 26698 Private Private Roland William Chapman 17th Bn Lancashire Fusiliers died of wounds this day 1916. Remembered on the Thiepval Memorial. Roland was conscripted on the 10th February 1916 and didn't even last six months in the army. His son Roland William Chapman was born on 31st December 1916, never to know a father. He himself served in the RA (Light AA) from 1939 to 1946, serving in Norway, North Africa (8th Army) and Italy. Fred Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
