I'm hoping some of those helpful Canadians will be able to tell me if this guy features in any unit diaries etc they may have access to ... I only have this pic and caption.

Hmm, there is a Matthew Graham 1037112, from Country Antrim, who enlisted in Vancouver in July 1916 into a Forestry Battalion. Six foot even in height.

Nobody who quite matches the newspaper clipping; I would guess the man went into 7th Battalion or 16th Battalion if he enlisted in Vancouver August 1914 and went with First Contingent.

I'll leave this one for Mordac! :D
