WhiteStarLine Posted 20 November , 2011 Share Posted 20 November , 2011 Abbeville was the site of the Royal Engineers Signal Training depot. My grandfather's photo is identical to http://cas.awm.gov.au/item/H18452 and I have posted it before. It appears here side-by-side with a possible location identification suggested by a Forum Pal. WhiteStarLine Posted 20 November , 2011 Author Share Posted 20 November , 2011 Rambures was never a battlefield to my knowledge, but was a town used post-Armistice by 11th AIF Brigade. The photo was taken by Sapper Frost most probably in December 1918 or January 1919. Many other locations in Rambures appear identical today.
