The memorial in Poets' Corner, Westminster Abbey, to 16 Great War poets is a slate stone slab with the names of the poets inscribed on it. It was unveiled on 11 November 1985, the 67th anniversary of the Armistice. An additional inscription quotes Owen's "Preface":

My questions are:

• What was the selection criteria based upon?
• Who was on the selection committee?
• It appears that they waited until after the last mortality to dedicate. (Robert Graves, 1985) Is that in fact the case?
• Women notably absent, were any considered? I presume that Vera Brittain would have been, I assume that if the selection was made in this day and age she would have been?
• In general what is the history of this memorial?

While the authors included are certainly deserving the list seems possibly arbitrary.
