Hi Marilyne,

I'm going to get it as soon as I can,it comes highly recommended by Anthony Beevor for one and it cropped up on the Telegraph's books of the year if I remember right. Anyway its on my wish list on Amazon, can't wait to add to basket

along with the new Bismarck bio.

Best Wishes,Liam

This looks just up my alley! Yet another book to put on the list. I will be anxious to hear some reviews when some of you have read it.

  • 1 year later...

Over a year since the last post on this, but how have people found this book? I've just started reading it, and am finding it most interesting. Such a different viewpoint from the usual British-centered view.

It's well worth reading, as it provides a commentary on some aspects of the War not covered as much as others, eg the Eastern Front, East Africa, the Belgian Air Service, Turkish cavalry, etc.

I thought it was excellent.
