is the consensus still the same on the use of the book as door-stoppper or cat-litter ???

No. I decided it simply wasnt fit for purpose as the door-stop and gave it to the charity shop. I have no idea if they've managed to sell it.

Bad things usually come in threes, and if the first two are Mosier and Winter, what is the third ...? There must be something before we get to Zuber ...

Tooley Hunt's The Western Front - Battle ground and home front in the FWW that book is a methodological catastrophe!! Never finishes enumerations, the main aim, which is supposedly establishing a relation between the home front and the battle front is never really proved or established; names of battles are missing at two times at least, sources are wrong, repetitions and some elements are completely out of context.

Or if you want a French one, try Alain Denizot's La bataille de la Somme: "Story" has no real start or introduction. He just describes action, sometiomes forgetting to mention the place or the units involved, no structure ... at some times you don't know if the action described is on the German or allied side of the front line and he even manages to mix up army corps and their commanders. the only thing he does not do to that respect is put a French in charge of an English Army.

so there's a choice left for number 3 ...
