Jacob Posted 31 July , 2004 Share Posted 31 July , 2004 I am trying to find some info about Oliver W. JENKINS who died Sept 3, 1916 while serving with the 12th Battalion, Gloucestershire Reg. On the CWGA site it didn't show who his parents were. Would it say on the CD of soldiers who died in the Great War? Thanks. Bill White
Myrtle Posted 31 July , 2004 Share Posted 31 July , 2004 Bill Welcome to the forum. Parents' names are not included as information in SDGW. Additional information regarding Pte Oliver Jenkins is as follows: Pte Oliver Wilfred Jenkins Reg. Number: 14895 Born: Chepstow, Mon. Enlisted: Bristol Killed in Action There is an Oliver Jenkins who was born in Chepstow listed on the 1901 census. He was 6 years old at the time. The only other Oliver Jenkins born in Chepstow was 93 !! Therefore the former could be your man which would mean that he was approx. 21 years old when he died. There are some Glos. Regiment experts who visit this site who may be able to help you further. Good Luck with your search. Myrtle
Jacob Posted 31 July , 2004 Author Share Posted 31 July , 2004 Hi Myrtle. Thanks for the info on Oliver JENKINS. That clears it up for me. This Oliver JENKINS isn't the Oliver JENKINS I thought it was. Maybe my Oliver wasn't in the war. Bill
