jmoha Posted 1 August , 2004 Share Posted 1 August , 2004 Greetings from a Newbie. I am trying to establish the war service of the 7th Dragoons but have hit a snag. The Regimental Website history page has them as being Indian army and spending most of the War in India and then moving on to the Palestine campaign. However, another Web source, Regimental Warpath puts them in the 3rd Cavalry division from March - November 1918 in France. Which is correct? Are there any more reliable sources I should consult? Cheers

Feb 18 Sec Cav Bde & 5 Cav Div broken up. 10/3/18 to 7 Cav Bde, 3 Cav Div. No further change. This is according to Brig E.A.James. (British Regiments 1914-18). 22402947 Posted 2 August , 2004 Share Posted 2 August , 2004 The 7th Royal Dragoon Guards joined with the 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards in 1922 and became known as the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards. It is now the Royal Dragoon Guards. I was a member of the 4th/7th in the 1950's. Montague H. Chapin
