The Pimple

My Great uncle private Sidney goodier 58265 1st bn Cheshire regiment was killed on the pimple on the 14/4/1917 and hasent got a named grave so is there any other forum members who could possibly post a list of the men killed on the pimple on that day please thanking you in advance keith smith :blink:

I cant' say that this men were actually killed on the pimple but these are the men listed on SDGW as being Killed in Action on the date serving with 1st Btn Cheshire Rgt.

This attachment shows the War Diary entry for April 14. As is so often

the case it does not give too much information. You may want to browse

the associated diaries for the 1st Cheshires, 15th Brigade, and 5th Division,

which, for this period, are available here:

Search on 5th Division - miscellaneous. They give, for example, the exact

trenches and map locations occupied. Unfortunately, the entries are not well

indexed, so you may have to hunt around in the April, 1917 section.
