Greenwoodman Posted 7 August , 2004 Share Posted 7 August , 2004 1st Battalion was in the Salient, probably in the Hill 60 area. Devonshire Camp was a base when out of the line, divisional baths at Reninghelst. 2nd Battalion was on the Somme during the retreat to the Hindenburg Line. No specifics on either. Source is Charles Messenger's "Terriers in the Trenches".

roger Posted 7 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 7 August , 2004 The soldier I am looking at is buried at BEDFORD HOUSE CEMETERY Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. That would suggest he was in 1/8 Post Office Rifles. Roger PS Is it normal to reply to your own posts or is akin to talking to yourself?
