Guest MaryFM Posted 9 August , 2004 Share Posted 9 August , 2004 Hi everyone The reason I have posted this thread is, I was looking in the CWGC and came across the death of a Private G A Russell aged 31, dated 5/11/18 he is buried in Toxteth Park Cemetery in Liverpool. I just thought how close he was to the end of the war and as I haven't come across the Non Combatant Corp I wondered if it were a name for perhaps those who were against bearing arms. Best wishes Mary
Matt Dixon Posted 9 August , 2004 Share Posted 9 August , 2004 I believe they may have been involved in base duties, clerical work, stores and supplies etc, although I have no doubt one of the more knowledgeable Pals will be able to shed more light on the matter for you. Have you tried Google?

Guest MaryFM Posted 9 August , 2004 Share Posted 9 August , 2004 Thank you Terry for pointing me in the right direction I found the other replies really interesting. It now has set me thinking on another train of thought but I shall search the posting first to see if it has already been discussed. Many thanks to everyone Mary
