dv-367 Posted 11 August , 2004 Share Posted 11 August , 2004 I'd like to ask if it's worth me buying the following book to research information about my great-grandfathers regiment? The book is priced at £29.95 is this too expensive for the book, and is it a rarity? ICH DIEN": THE PRINCE OF WALES'S VOLUNTEERS (SOUTH LANCASHIRE) 1914-1934 Capt. H. Whalley-Kelly Thanks in advance for any advice! CROONAERT Posted 11 August , 2004 Share Posted 11 August , 2004 Nope. It's great value. This is one that I've got and it's about the best you'll find on the South Lancs. Compared with the rarity and price of original copies, this is a must for your library if you're interested in the regiment. By the way, could I reccomend you, if you are going to get it, to get it from the QLR Museum, Regimental HQ at Fulwood barracks in Preston. If you get it from here, then a percentage of the cost goes towards the upkeep of the regimental archives and museum. It's the same price as from the N&MP or elsewhere. Dave. Ste Posted 12 August , 2004 Share Posted 12 August , 2004 In a recent browse online, I spotted a copy of Ich Dien going for £100. An original, I presume. S
