Reading good book at the moment. The Return of Captain John Emmett. Fiction. It's 1920 and ex-soldier Laurence Bartram has been asked to investigate the death of an old friend ,John Emmett. John was in an institution before he died, leaving money to three mysterious people. Circumstances surrounding his death aren't all what they seem. Laurence Bartram has to go in search of other ex-soldiers asking them to relate in detail events that happened in the trenches.

I'm two thirds of the way in and haven't worked it out yet.

This novel is loosely based on two real life executions for desertion.
