Coldstreamer Posted 14 August , 2004 Share Posted 14 August , 2004 Hello Can anyone tell me what this unit was up to in between Aug and Nov 1914 Thanks
roger Posted 14 August , 2004 Share Posted 14 August , 2004 Coldstreamer, Welcome to the forum. Are you sure you aren't looking for "Field Bakery". A Battery is an Artillery unit designation rather than ASC. It is more likely to be field Bakery if ASC. Roger.
Coldstreamer Posted 12 September , 2004 Author Share Posted 12 September , 2004 You are probably correct - ASC isnt my thing and never really thought about it except that he could have been attached to them. Thanks for the reply Ian
GavinH Posted 12 September , 2004 Share Posted 12 September , 2004 Ian, I have a 1914 Star to a member of the No.9 Field Bakery, ASC. His medal card shows that he arrived in France on the 5th October 1914. Although not yet confirmed, I think this may indicate that the unit was part of the 7th Division.
