Chris - Great addition - but here's another one for you.

Since chaplains seem to be highly deocrated - in general - is it worthwhile people passing on details of the various chaplains for another sub-folder in LLT?

Know you're already working on herds of stuff but worth a thought?

Is this book on general sale or does it have to be specially ordered? If so, should I contact the publisher or Joe Mellish?

Or you can buy it online through amazon etc etc etc or any bookshop. Publishers are notorious for not being the fastest folk in the world for dealing with small single orders!

ISBN is 1843940086

Can anyone confirm the whereabouts of Rev Mellish VC in March 1917?

March 1916

According to Regimental History of 1st Bn North'd Fus, (9th Inf Bde, 3rd Div'n) to whom Mellish was Brigade C of E Chaplain, though he was attached to 4th Royal Fusiliers (also 9th Bde)

Received the ribbon on 24th April 1916 from Divisional Commanders, in recognition of the gallant and devoted services he had rendered to the men among whom he had served. At St Eloi on the 27th, 28th and 29th March, Noel Mellish had consitantly gone forward under heavy machine gun and artillery fire to succour and rescue the wounded.
