Sgt York Posted 5 April , 2003 Share Posted 5 April , 2003 The information shown on the CWGC for a RFA man I'm researching shows his unit only as: "B" Instructional Battery The man was invalided out of the RFA in 1918, died in 1921 and is buried in the UK. I'm presuming that the above battery was in the UK. Can anyone help with its location or any other information regarding the locations of 'Instructional Batteries'. Cheers. Joe Sweeney Posted 5 April , 2003 Share Posted 5 April , 2003 "B" Instructional Battery was located at Larkhill. It would take in between 400-500men at a time to train. "The History of the Royal Regiment of Artillery" lists it as training RHA in one place and RFA in another so I'm not sure which it is. Joe
Sgt York Posted 5 April , 2003 Author Share Posted 5 April , 2003 Joe, Many thanks for the location of the battery. I'm quite sure you know, but for 'Baker Pals' who don't. The Royal School of Artillery have a website at: http://www.rsa.mod.uk/ Cheers, Ronnie.
