It possesses the great advantage over most other High Explosives in that it is almost entirely free from sympathetic detonation Mixture of Ammonium Nitrate and Trotyl hence Amatol Terrorists use Ammonium Nitrate and fuel oil ANFO Excellent lifting explosive ideal for quarrying and mining ANFO is used in the civilian quarrying industry currently.
