Hugh Pattenden Posted 23 August , 2004 Share Posted 23 August , 2004 Hi, I've been doing some research into the following officer: Second Lieutenant Dennis John Freeland Bradbury, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Died of wounds, Somme, 15th November 1916 aged 19. The CWGC register says that he was attached as Battalion Bombing Officer to the 10th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. However, when I wrote to the museum of the LNLR, I was told that he never served with them. In addition to this, another man is named as their bombing officer in the battalion history and 2/Lt Bradbury is not mentioned. Does anyone have any ideas/information as to where he actually served? Many thanks, Hugh
Doug Lewis Posted 23 August , 2004 Share Posted 23 August , 2004 Hugh It seems strange that you were told he was not attached to L.N. Lancs both his M.I.C online and ODGW say that he was attached to them. M.I.C- http://www.documentsonline.nationalarchive...1&resultcount=1 Regards Doug. Hugh Pattenden Posted 25 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 25 August , 2004 Steve, That is certainly a possibility. I'll look into it. Thanks, Hugh
