The Guards and the RFA

I'm researching the war record of my grandfather who was in 75th RFA attached to the Guards Div. until May 1916 and thereafter 41st RFA attached to 2nd Div. Can anyone suggest a good source book for discovering whereabouts in France he might have served?

Thanks!

Jonathan

You might try and start with divisional histories of the Guards Division and 2nd Division. Also this website contains short histories of Guards Division and 2nd Division, besides a full listing of RFA Brigades.

I hope this helps you getting started!

Jonathan.

For the RFA, you could try "History of the Royal Regiment of Artillery - Western Front 1914-18" by Gen.Sir Martin Farndale. (1986). ISBN 1 870114 00 0
