Gobsmacked!

I just don't believe it!

As I entered the forum, I glanced up at the soldier remembered today, and there was a name I recognized only too well - Pte Frank Lethbridge, who came from a N Devon village only five miles from where I live, and consequently one of the local men I am researching. I suppose with so many members on the forum, this coincidence must happen reasonably frequently to other people, but it definitely made me sit up! I have left a bit more info about Pte Lethbridge in the thread dedicated to him, if anyone should be interested.

Added to that, Ed Matthews has very kindly scanned a photo of another of my local men - thanks Ed. Some researchers have been very fortunate in finding photos of their men, particularly from local papers, but my local rags did not seem to have discovered photography in any shape or form, so Ed's work is much appreciated. Although the men I am interested in number in their hundreds, photos of them are still in single figures.

All in all, a great night, thanks to the forum.
