Guest Dorothyp Posted 29 August , 2004 Share Posted 29 August , 2004 Thank you to all the people who helped me find out that my great uncle was in the South Staffordshire Reg. Now I'm trying to find out when they were in Northern Ireland pre 1914, as the photo of him was taken in Belfast. Any information would be very welcome. Many thanks, Dorothy
Wienand Drenth Posted 29 August , 2004 Share Posted 29 August , 2004 Dorothy, On regiments.org you find a complete overview of the deployment of the two regular battalions of the South Staffordshire Regiment. It seems that 1st Battalion was in Ireland in 1904. I don't know if that date does coincide with your great uncle's time in the army. Otherwise you might find more at that page. I hope this helps a little. Regards, Wienand
