Highland Light Infantry/Labour Corps

Angus Nelson McDonald enlisted in Glasgow around 24 June 1916 in the Highland Light Infantry (I think) and after training, was called for service on 11 January 1917 (No.656934).

Believed to have been in France for about 18 months.

Have a Medical Inspection Report from Z Horse Depot, Douai, dated 19.11.1919 - said he was scabies-free, bathed and had clean undies!). Also has 'Labour Corps' '256 Area Emp Coy' 'No 1 District' on his reference.

Can any Pals give me any idea as to his HLI Battalion or Labour Corps history?

Tom
