which, I must say, I never expected.

First two volumes are lined up for a reprint this spring:

III is Jutland

IV and V cover post-Jutland, the submarine crisis and the final year of the war.

Although they're 50 years old, well worth investing in.

More than well worth - copies go for high prices on the 2nd-hand market. £16 is a steal!

Managed to acquire the full 5 over a few years by a combination of eBay and local bookshops. Marder is one of my favourite authors.

A reprint of the Jutland volume (which, I trust, would be the expanded 2nd Edition) would be very welcome. I do wonder whether the charts would be reproduced in full, however and they are one of the strengths of this set and, in particular, the Jutland volume.

Good lord, are they that old? Remember reading all five right through in succession cover to cover, borrowed from the Harris Library in Preston some 40 years ago... A monumental work in every respect.

Marder's books fetch prices out of all proportion to their worth, so reprints are rather welcome.
