joanbelge Posted 27 February , 2013 Share Posted 27 February , 2013 Although I bought this book a little while ago I have only recently given it the attention it deserves. Capt Martin Hardie was an artist who worked as a censor during the war among other things. He published this book himself in 1918, it contains 32 postcards that are simply presented on blank pages with just a title. The paintings are exqusite in my opinion showing aspects of everyday and military life in Boulogne in 1917. If you get chance to see a copy it I 'm sure you too will be enthralled by the pictures Joan
