Black Maria Posted 6 March , 2013 Share Posted 6 March , 2013 Due to be published at the end of May by Pen and Sword, the diary of Henry Owens an "Old Contemptible" who served four years on the Western Front.Looks like it could be a good book and of interest to anyone, who like me,enjoys reading memoirs and diaries. seaJane Posted 6 March , 2013 Share Posted 6 March , 2013 Thanks for the heads-up bm. I presume Henry Owens was RAMC?
Black Maria Posted 6 March , 2013 Author Share Posted 6 March , 2013 Yes,he served with the R.A.M.C throughout the war, unfortunately he died of a sudden illness in 1921 and his diaries were given to the I.W.M after the death of his wife in 1980.
