Terry_Reeves Posted 8 September , 2004 Share Posted 8 September , 2004 The 3rd Division Veldleger was part the Dutch Army. I have information about it up until outbreak of way in 1914, but could anybody help with the WW1 period? Terry Reeves
Wienand Drenth Posted 12 September , 2004 Share Posted 12 September , 2004 Hello Terry, I don't have any information on the Dutch Army of that period, but you might try to contact the Army Museum in Delft (legermuseum). Their url is http://www.legermuseum.nl/home/. I hope they can provide you with these details. In general, there is very little available in bookshops on the Dutch Army, apart from the odd Marine Corps book, and aviation oriented stuff. Marco Posted 12 September , 2004 Share Posted 12 September , 2004 Terry, I’m afraid I don’t know much detailed information about the Dutch army during ww1 myself, but as a Dutchman I am obliged to have ‘a go’ for you (general information can be found at http://www.xs4all.nl/~aur/Netherlands/dutcharmy.htm ) Below a picture from a German intelligence report from April 1918 on the Dutch Army. That’s what your chaps looked like then . I only have the plates from this report and some comments written on the back of them. It only speaks of Regiments and Battalions. Do you have any idea which Regiments were in the 3rd Division? Regards, Marco
