Harry Lester and Harry Cook

Harry Lester and Harry Cook are listed on the Mountessing War Memorial and are the last wo I have to find... I have looked on CWGC and also SDGW all to no avail... I am missing something I know, but HELP please ;)

Is this one of them? SDGW says born in Stanford-le-Hope and gives first name as 'Harry'.

Stanford le Hope would not be in the same parish unless I suppose there was a family connection. Until now I have been able to place those listed and more, to Mountnessing either as residing or born there. Stanford has to be about 10 miles away.

Sorry Mountnessing is in Essex.. near Brentwood and Billericay

I don't see that as being any bar to him being on the memorial.

Many names were added of people from outside parishes - married into the area, had parents there, worked there etc. Unless this memorial is different for some reason.

I can't see any more likely candidate without more information.

I think I'll have to side with Terry on this one. I've got a few local memorials, including one to staff who worked for the Fry's factory in Keynsham (Somerdale). A couple of them were born & enlisted in Manchester/Scotland etc, yet lived for a short while here in Bristol.

ok.. looks like the 1901 census see if they happen to be around,, or else down to the PRO for poss attestation paper research.. that would help..
