Let Erin Remember Posted 30 October , 2013 Share Posted 30 October , 2013 Following the discovery of the mass grave, it was thought that one of the "British " soldiers could be Pte Michael Kavanagh, Royal Dublin Fusiliers. The CWGC put out a request for any possible relatives of his to contact them with a view to assisting in the identification process. As I haven't heard anything further I assume that nothing came of it one way or another. I visited the new cemetery in the weeks following its formal opening and was happy to see that those soldiers who had been missing for so long had been given a proper and fitting burial. However, that was tinged with a degree of regret that many of them remain among those buried in graves marked simply "a soldier ..... Known unto God."
