SilverFox100 Posted 21 July , 2013 Share Posted 21 July , 2013 Having recently joined the GWF due to a visit to France on a Battlefield Tour following my Grandfather who was in the Royal Field Artillery I am looking for recommendations as to good books to read on the RFA especially any associated with the 3rd Division and the actions they were involved in. Thanks Mike
Black Maria Posted 22 July , 2013 Share Posted 22 July , 2013 Some good memoirs that are easily available are= Field Guns in France by N.Fraser-Tytler The War diary of the Master of Belhaven by R.G.A Hamilton Pushed and the Return Push By "Quex" Salute of Guns by D.Boyd and two books that are worth looking for are= The Ebb and Flow of Battle and In the Cannon's Mouth both by P.J Campbell Not sure if any of them cover the 3rd Division though. RobertBr Posted 22 July , 2013 Share Posted 22 July , 2013 The' History of the Royal Regiment of Artillery Western Front 1914-1918' by Gen Sir Martin Farnsdale is one of the definitive books. Bob
