Guest Pete Wood Posted 21 September , 2004 Share Posted 21 September , 2004 Welcome to the forum, Sue. He was a L/Cpl Enlisted Derby Lived in Heanor, Derbyshire. You can see what medals he was entitled to, and when he landed in France, by downloading his medal index card at http://www.documentsonline.nationalarchive...&resultcount=37 You can also see if his records survive (many were destroyed in the blitz) at the National Archives in Kew, Surrey. Stephen Nulty Posted 22 September , 2004 Share Posted 22 September , 2004 Sue 1901 census has 4-year-old Leonard living at 50 High Street, Heanor, with his parents John, a 28 year old fishmonger, and Grace (?), 26. Also there are brother Edgar aged 2 and sister Edith, aged 11 months. SN
