1st battalion East Riding Yeomanry

Were the above bataalion involved in any action before the daye goiven?A soldier I am researching Corporal John Harrsion who was in the 1 st Battalion East Riding Yeomanry. The date is significant because John Harrsion died of enteric fever on that date and is has a grave at Cario War Memorial Cemetery.

1st/1st Wast Riding Yeomanry did not leave UK for Egypt until late October 1915 and joined the Western Frontier Force, responsible for dealing with pro-Turkish Arabs in the Western Desert of Egypt, in April 1916. Could the date of death therefore have been 15/6/16 and not 15?
