CarylW Posted 1 November , 2013 Share Posted 1 November , 2013 Welcome to the forum There is a small snippet in the Hull Daily Mail Wednesday 8th May 1918 under the heading 'Prisoners of War' 'Private Wm. Sharp E Y, son of Mrs Sharp 5 Porter Place Porter-street. Joined up at the outbreak of hostilities' Which probably doesn't tell you any more than you already know. Also, in the Dinsdale list database on the East Yorkshire Regiment site is the following: 'Private William Sharp 12657 7th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. Photo and write up Hull Daily News 2nd May 1918. Prisoner of War AVL (Absent Voters List) Hull. 1918 7th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. Next of kin 5 Porter place Porter-street.Hull' http://www.east-yorkshire-regiment.co.uk/_content/dbase/result.php?seq=6719
