Guest bartley Posted 18 November , 2013 Share Posted 18 November , 2013 I have New Zealand relative who, according to family history, was in the Mechant Navy and was killed at Archangel. We have never been able to tfind any official record of his death. The family was sent a medal whch I have not seen but it is brnze with laural leaves at the edges. we do not have the ribbons. You describe the medal which fits the Victory Medal,which ordinarily goes with the issue of the British War Medal. If he was MN then he also probably had the Mercantile Marine Medal.
