Herbert edwards 27969 Border Reg. was there in 1923 winning shooting medals.

But can someone tell me where it was?

He was discharged 18/11/18. with the following cause of discharge...... para 392 xv KR -2 (a) OI A.O VI d/14-9-18.

But was still being treated for his injury I presume up to 5 years later.

Can anyone make any sense out of this I am really stuck as to where to go next. Am I at the end of the trail of info??I intend to post some photos of herbert will this help?

Here is a potential clue. The Princess Mary Convalescent Home (notice slightly different name) was in Bognor. It closed in 1913 and the property was auctioned in 1914, but didn't reach its reserve.

Is it possible that, on the outbreak of war, it came back into being?

There is a twist. A refurbished hospital by that name was newly opened, in 1935, in Margate.

I suggest you contact the local studies centre in the library at Bognor and (maybe?) Margate.

Hopefully someone else can help you more.
