I just got a copy of British campaign Medals of the First World War. Although not a complex noble story as some books in this section are (maybe this should have been under the medals section) I'm very glad I got it. Many of you may have it but I was impressed with the brief concise way the information was presented. Only 56 pages including index a small soft back it's useful reading for someone like me who has just started looking more closely at medals.

Apart from the medal information there are some photographs like the one of female ordinance workers who the book claims received no medal but I would have thought the War Service badge could have been mentioned. Also listed are the designated theatres of war and similar information.

All in all a good little handy reference that won’t break the bank; I think I paid about $17 Australian Dollars for it which is good value. This prompted me to order “ British campaign Medal 1914-2005”
