pardeloup Posted 23 January , 2014 Share Posted 23 January , 2014 Just three days before Britain entered the war, thirty single deck 20 seat deck B Type buses were commandeered from the LGOC for war service. Stripped of their seats they were converted to ambulances and sent to Dover to be shipped to Flanders/France. Of the thirty buses only four were repurchased in 1919, most being captured, destroyed by the Germans, possibly at Antwerp. Have any members any photographic evidence or references to their use or demise in Flanders? I have the photo in 'Destination Western Front' of a converted bus which was destined for the Admiralty, and that is it. Tony Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
