Graham-McAdam Posted 4 October , 2004 Share Posted 4 October , 2004 Would some kind chum look up this man in 'Soldiers died..' TAYLOR Initials: A Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Private Regiment: Royal Army Medical Corps Unit Text: 20th Stat. Hosp. Date of Death: 10/12/1918 Service No: 9312 Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: 899. Cemetery: MIKRA BRITISH CEMETERY, KALAMARIA On the school memorial he is simply named A Taylor and in the school magazines there is nothing about him except a 1914 ref. to him being RAMC (TF). I just wonder if the other database has any link with Lincoln. There are, of course hundreds (700) of A Taylors in CWGC, and above is only one who didn't come from Aberdeen or Belfast. Thanks very much
Tom Morgan Posted 4 October , 2004 Share Posted 4 October , 2004 Graham, he seems to be one of the late-war/post-armistice casualties missing from the SDGW record. Tom
Graham-McAdam Posted 5 October , 2004 Author Share Posted 5 October , 2004 Poor guy, eh, Tom, if being a month late knocks him off the end of the database. I'm off to the PRO (as they used to say) for the first time Saturday week. I wonder if there's anywhere there I could look him up? Actually I'm going because a pal, going for a look at her family offered me a seat in a coach leaving Grimsby at 5am. Ha Ha. I must look around the site and see what I mind find at the NA. Time I knew, isn't it! Thanks for your help.
