From Worcesters to MGC

Does anyone know... of course someone knows.

My great uncle joined the Worcesters but ened up in the MGC (DOW). Would he have volunteerd or been transferred.

If the latter how would they decide?

Is there anywhere I can go to find out what his movements were with the Worcesters, and how long he was with them?

Re the MGC he was with 52nd Btn (Inf)

I am more than a bit ignorant of the MGC, were they attached as battalioans or companies to infantry battalions/companies? Did they support the same units or move about as and when required?

Thanks in advance

Anthony

Compulsorily transferred, possibly after being wounded or after completing basic training in a line Regiment.

There is some useful stuff on the MGC on the mother site
