barkalotloudly Posted 13 February , 2014 Share Posted 13 February , 2014 Just arrived today a very large book landscape format looking at the landscape of Flanders 1914-1918 mainly from aerial photographs but also some very interesting other photos. Many of the photographs have heavy duty tracing paper overlays showing the main features. There are also numerous aerial photos etc of the Belgium coastal region Ostend etc a worthwhile purchase {available from A******N} regards John
paulgranger Posted 13 February , 2014 Share Posted 13 February , 2014 There are a couple of books on that well-known site that have similar titles. Is this the Gail Ramsey version of the Birger Stichelbaut? I suspect the latter.
keithjk Posted 13 February , 2014 Share Posted 13 February , 2014 If you are referring to the book by Gail Ramsey, it is so popular that it is already 'temporarily out of stock' ! I have it on my wish-list. Keith

barkalotloudly Posted 13 February , 2014 Author Share Posted 13 February , 2014 The Gail Ramsey book is "The great war from the air then and now" an after the battle book managed to get that one last week, the one that arrived today is by Birger Stichelbaut a much bigger book 352 pages 500 illustrations and 40 overlays {"HE GREAT WAR SEEN FROM THE AIR"}concentrates on Flanders if you are interested in aerial photographs these two are well worth having! regards John
Seadog Posted 13 February , 2014 Share Posted 13 February , 2014 Thanks, the first one is an After the Battle publication and I have two of their books so this new one is no doubt up to the usual high standard. The other book sounds very interesting indeed.
