Has anyone read the Newspaper.. City Week 1966.. ONE MANS WAR (Belfast) The extracts in this paper were taken from the Maultsaid Diaries.

Jim Maultsaid served with the 36th Ulster Division.. 14th R.I.R.

His time of service was from 1914 to early 1920 and during this time he kept a diary which was also filled with his sketches, some of these can be seen

in Road To the Somme.

He was badly wounded at the Somme which was documented in City Week. He returned to duty with the Chinese Labour Corps where he became Captain.

He served from 1914 to early 1920

I think this should be a fascinating read and the publication of these original diaries to a wider audience is long overdue.
