Guest Tim Millar Posted 19 October , 2004 Share Posted 19 October , 2004 Hi I'm just trying to find out the movemments of a great uncle during from the info I had from him and twhat I can find from the web He was Pte Leonard Blain 11860 Lincolnshire Yeomanry, MGC 120838 1914 -1920. He talked vary rairly about the war but once let it all out for a shcool project I did 20 years ago. He joined at age 15 and went to Ireland to learn to ride a horse (barracks was attacked by Sinn Fein) and was sent to Egypt but as a machine gunner. I think he must have been part of the Lincolnshire yeomanry MG squadron, and ended up in Jaffa where he scrumped some limes and met TE Lawrence. I'm trying to follow the actions he would have been involved with but can only find bits about Australian and NZ light horse in Khan Younis, near Gaza. He remained in Palestine until 1920, but thats all I know. He made it to his 101st birthday too. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks Tim
