Guest Posted 16 July , 2014 Share Posted 16 July , 2014 Hello all, Has anyone read Lyn Macdonalds book Passchendaele the story of the Third Battle of Ypres ? I was wondering if it was worth picking up ? Her books seems to have varied reviews.
Stephen Nulty Posted 16 July , 2014 Share Posted 16 July , 2014 "They called it Passchendaele" By Lyn Macdonald was the first book I read about the Great War over 30 years ago. It was the book that sparked my interest in the subject and I think it is well written and easy to read. I re-read it a few months back and still think the same. I would recommend it. (Just working through your other request, by the way)
Chris_Baker Posted 16 July , 2014 Share Posted 16 July , 2014 I echo that. I know an awful lot more now than when I first read Lyn's books, but I still regard them as inspiring and a very good read.
