SteveMarsdin Posted 16 January , 2015 Share Posted 16 January , 2015 Yes it is Uncle George (sorry about crediting the previous WIT to NeverForget). I was looking down the list of WW1 VC, seeing which surnames appeared the most; perhaps not surprisingly these are headed by five Smiths and five Whites but there are also five Harveys. Stoppage Drill Posted 16 January , 2015 Author Share Posted 16 January , 2015 there are also five Harveys. Jimmy Stewart, where art thou at this moment ? "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" – she always called me Elwood – "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me."

David Ridgus Posted 16 January , 2015 Share Posted 16 January , 2015 Tough day at school so just before I log off and go home I thought I'd have a quick peek at my favourite thread. I am so glad I did, it has cheered me up completely. Ladies and Gentlemen I tip my hat to you all - what a brilliant day of WITs of whom the only one I knew was Lanoe Hawker (one of my first Great War heroes)! Now if I can just get home in time to join in with the bird theme before it flies off into the sunset David
