Amanda Nelson is not there of my doing, so should be ignored.

They are not all of the same trade, and aren't Masons either.

They do share the same surname however, and "craftsmen" was a mischievous reference to that.

NF is your man Edward Cooper VC?

Not Cooper but his name is an age old trade, that is just about still going, and is another way of describing how one might ply one's trade. I.E. he was good with words, or he was good with a sword, etc.

Well, I think that may well be General Georg Fuchs - continuing the woodland creatures and my own vuilpine themes...

Cheers

Colin

So a Smith of some ilk?

Yes! The Beaver himself.

How about this ? ? ?

That looks like the desert variety of fox to me, uncle.

Colin has deduced my man's name. Smith it is, so that narrows it down a bit. ?

Can you tell me why he is highlighted in the picture?

All five are blood relatives.

Sorry Colin - NF has it. Good thinking though.

I can see two more birds in there; bunting and crane, but I suspect I`m way off.

Can`t see any woodland creatures as yet. Should I keep looking?

Yes indeed.

Given that was his second appearance in 10 days (post 1421 with an almost identical picture!), not so difficult perhaps...?

Sorry but the sub-theme has its challenges...

Yes, still on the woodland creatures sub-theme. Burrowing creatures...

All five are blood relatives.

Then they must be the 7 sons of the Australians Frederick and Maggie Smith - 6 of the 7 (Herbert William, Frederick Walter, Alfred Ernest, Clarence Leslie, Errol Victor and Aubrey Lyall) were killed in action and the 7th, Francis Hume, the eldest, was the sole survivor.

The inset photo, being an older man, must be of Francis.

What a devastating tale.

Cheers

Colin

Well, it's not HMS Badger - looks merchant navy.

Indeed not. Nor is it HMS Wolverine.

In fact, the reference is not to the ship at all ...

Yes indeed. Well done Eddie. (Yours crossed in the post with my post 1702,)
