A venerable Yorkshire delicacy and not to be triffled with I'll have you know. Betty's famous 'Fat Rascals' are especially nourishing and for some, rather comforting.:D

Yes indeed. Hopefully @tankengine888 isn't kicking himself too much, being one of his compatriots.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Bragg#:~:text=Bragg was commissioned early in,the boom of their firing.

The photo was from here, which includes a much more technical explanation...

I've been to Adelaide you know, and I am presently attempting to get a Work Experience placement at the Army Museum of South Australia at Keswick Barracks (in Adelaide).

I'll get my revenge

Would I be right in suggesting that’s a WW2 uniform

Yes you would be. He was in a unique formation during the first war.

That would be a good placement to bag.

As far as getting your revenge goes; not too difficult, I'm easy meat :D

Yes it would. I'm pulling in all the artillery (my blog, other relevant stuff, etc).

Was he one of those few Australians who served in the Serbian Campaign?

I came across the attached, and thought your chap might be John Lavarack or Edmund (Ned) Herring.

I see, I see.. I was going to pick Herring but I decided against that one. That is an interesting article..

As your chap looks to be a brigadier in the photo, I assume a “junior officer ” or an enlisted man to start with.

So was he with :-
1. Lawerence and the Arabs (very doubtful as he almost operated as a one man show)

2.Lt Col Leachmans group in Mesopotamia (also doubtful, he did have a few officers with him)

3.Dunsterforce a good chance he served as large contingent of ANZAC officers and NCO’s were used.

4.Norperforce he could possibly be with this group after the break up of the Dunsterforce

Inching ever closer. He's a well-known (enough) Dunsterforce character, so I'm going to bed now!

Damn it, yes. Good job! He led the march in Melbourne outside Parliament in late 1939- early 1940. Interesting character all around.

https://vwma.org.au/explore/people/54018 Must have gone through the same thought process as you @Knotty although at first I suspected that it was that fine Australian actor Chips Rafferty

Could I add in that Chips Rafferty was a RAAF Flying Officer, more on ground duties. I watched 40,000 Lighthorseman with him starring in it.. a brilliant movie in my opinion, atleast, propaganda-wise.
