And the winner is….. @neverforget

Spot on Steve, I was very surprised he has not been on here with his memoirs, I’m not going to discuss how his book compares to AQ on the WF as I’ve only just found out about it. I found him while checking out dates 14th April, just happens to be my birthday and the day he passed away in 1966. I feel a bit bad about the photo cock-up, [SORRY AGAIN EVERYONE] but I was looking at one US website, took it for gospel until I found another then finally found a 3rd to cross reference with.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_L._Barkley

https://missourioverthere.org/explore/collections/barkley-john-lewis-collection/missouri-house-of-representatives-house-resolution-no-54-n-d/    this is a notification of his death and shows all his medal references from the Missouri House of Representatives

And this is his obituary in the Kansas press

Looking at the style of headwear, my starter for 10 will be start with an American politician.

I wouldn't describe him as a politician, but he had an exceptional career both in and out of the military. Some thought him a worthy candidate for the presidency.

Well found Mr. Steve,

I was one step behind you

An interesting chap, thanks @Knotty, the change of pic half way was not any problem.

At that stage I was still clue less!

:D He was highly decorated in both world wars, and very active between them.

Portrayed in film, and highly respected and admired by Churchill and Roosevelt.

Buffalo Bill might lead you to him.
