I want to do my bit for the boys sir. I'll do anything!

While we all enjoy some frivolousness, please keep your posts on topic, ie 'The Great War', not modern TV.

Wit?

Second from left, back row.

Regards,

Bob.

Are they Australian? I only ask because of their odd headgear - this is not a slur on Aussie hats - as they look a bit like those of the AANS.

Pat you are very close,

a smaller country in that neck of the woods.

She was the third of six and sailed on the first contingent.

Not Russia Steve,

Pat is on the correct side of the world.

Think about 'Bob' for a moment, that bit of frivolity will help you.

Aha, yes, got her. If I'm right, ahem, it's down to the wonders of Google and a lucky guess.

A smaller country I would assume to be New Zealand, and would they be the six who went to Sāmoa ?

There’s a couple it could be with the same surname, so I will go for Agnes Elizabeth Lloyd Bennett?

Apologies, the transient nature of my visits means I never get timing right! OK, it's Sister Kate Wright, one of the first draft of 50 NZ nurses (NZANS) to leave that country to contribute overseas to the war effort, departing on SS Rotorua in April 1915.

She came from Remuera, a suburb of Auckland; I found her here: https://remueraheritage.org.nz/exhibitions/women-who-served-world-war-one/

Spot on Pat, well found!

Kate (also known as Bob.) Evelyn (Decline and Fall written by Evelyn Waugh) Wright. (early aviators the Wright brothers)

I found her here; https://remueraheritage.org.nz/story/ww1-kate-evelyn-wright-22-11/

The same web site as you have quoted.
