Tony Cox Posted 22 October , 2004 Share Posted 22 October , 2004 Can anyone help me locate Long Trench, the 6th Bn NF saw action hear in March 1918 the nearest villiage was Vauvillers south West of peronnne. The 6th Battalion (50th Div) and the 8th Div. were in the battle of Rosieres on 26th/27th March 1918 and were near to the 5th Durham Light Infantry and 4th East Yorkshires. Long Trench is mentioned when the 6th Batt. were at a spot where the front line met the Rosieres - Proyart Light Railway and near to Vauvillers.
