Guest CGI Posted 23 October , 2004 Share Posted 23 October , 2004 Paul, You do not specify which 'Norfolks' you are interested in. The reg.hist. of 1/5 Norfolks (the Gallipoli part) can be found on my site at : http://user.online.be/%7Esnelders/sand.htm Greetings, Jul
norfolk1 Posted 23 October , 2004 Author Share Posted 23 October , 2004 Hi Thank Jul for your reply. I am interested in all of the Norfolk Regiment during the Great war . Cheers Paul
chris basey Posted 23 October , 2004 Share Posted 23 October , 2004 Norfolk1 It might pay you to employ some healthy scepticism when reading some 'accounts' of the 5th Bn Norfolk Regiment in Gallipoli. The subject has been well discussed on this forum so a search for the topic will be very productive. If you can get access to the Western Front Magazines 'Stand to' of a couple of years or so ago, look for an article by Dick Rayner on the subject. Now that does warrant the description 'definitive work'. As said above - War Diaries at NA or Regimental Museum. Good Luck
stephen binks Posted 24 October , 2004 Share Posted 24 October , 2004 If your research is into the 1st Battalion, the war diary does not exist at kew but there is a copy at the Regimental museum in Norwich.
